RIP DJ Efiniti

First up I'm afraid we received some very sad news this week, one of our former DJs, Efiniti passed away a few days ago after sustaining fatal injuries in a car crash over the weekend. I'm sure you will all join us in sending our condolences and best wishes to his partner and his very young son. John was one of the winners of our first DJ competition back in 2006 and played for us regularly over much of the following year. He will be remembered for an encylopedic knowledge of music, endless enthusiasm for the music, a record collection that was the envy of the scene and his love of mashups that knew no bounds - rest in peace mate, you will be missed.

Whilst the nations nightlife goes through its usual mid-summer lull as everyone disappears on holiday, this week sees the first round of the 2008 DJ competition, which over the next 6 weeks will see nearly 15 budding young DJs going through the heats and then vying for the final prize of a residency at the club in the final in August. Coming up at the club we have Niche legend Nev Wright on tonight after the DJ competition and tomorrow night, Saturday, we have Danny Bond landing for his exclusive once a month Bradford slot at Lingards. We know that the state of the economy at the moment, with everything getting more expensive and what not isn't encouraging many people to go out splashing the cash so we have a very special offer on for Fridays throughout the competition - Entry on Friday is only £5 before 1am, Shots are £1 and selected drinks are 2 4 1! Later into July we have the usual 'Avin It end of month madness on Friday 25th of July with the Avin it residents and this month a Live PA by Katie May who will be performing her classic tracks You're The Only one and Real Love along with her new single! Further into August we have all the usual nights plus something rather special planned, just confirming all the DJs for it at the moment, more info very soon We've also been working on the club and doing enabling works and planning a bit of a refit over the past few months and this will culminate in the coming weeks and as well as a general redecorate and tidy up we will have a new look seating area and some big sofas for you to chill out in when the dancefloor all gets a bit too much!
